Taking the Fall by Jackie Brygel

TV Week, Australia, 23rd September 2006

Stingray is involved in a nasty accident this week when he falls from the roof of the Kennedy house. Hospitalised with a groin injury, Stingray (Ben Nicholas) – who has been battling a drinking problem – promises Rachel (Caitlin Stasey) that he won’t touch another drop of alcohol. But Stingray is in for even more sobering news. Karl (Alan Fletcher) tells him that his injury could be far more serious than first thought – it may have affected his chances of having children! As viewers will be aware, it’s Stingray and not his brother, Dylan (Damien Bodie), who’s the father of Sky’s unborn child. In light of Stingray’s condition, will Sky (Stephanie McIntosh) finally decide she must tell him and her fiancé the truth? “This just turns everything around for Stingray,” Damien says.

Elsewhere in Ramsay Street, Janelle (Nell Feeney) throws a family dinner in a bid to make both Anne (Tessa James) and Bree (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) feel accepted. But how will Janelle react when Bree declares it’s time to meet her biological parents? Also, Toadie (Ryan Moloney) – realising he has developed feelings for the married Steph (Carla Bonner) – decides the best thing to do is accept a career move to Sydney and leave Ramsay Street for good. Is this the last we’ll see of him? And why is Karl – back home with Susan (Jackie Woodburne) – seemingly so unwilling to get involved in Zeke (Matthew Werkmeister) and Rachel’s lives?
