Dancing Yes, but No Singing

Finally, a Neighbours star who won't be releasing a pop record.

"No, no," Ben Nicholas says categorically. "My Christmas album is coming out in November... joking!"

Adelaide born and raised, Nicholas, 16, busted a few moves with former dance partner Tori Horgan yesterday.

The longtime pals, who met at Mighty Good Talent School, were reunited on stage at the Adelaide Town Hall to perform at the official opening of the Australian Transplant Games.

"I'm surprised we didn't laugh," Tori chuckles after their appearance. "He's pretty funny, always joking around."

This won't come as too much of a surprise to Neigbours fans who will regocnise Nicholas as the hyperactive young buck "Stingray".

"It's so hard, I get home and I collapse on the floor," Nicholas says of playing the role. "It's pretty tiring. People meet me and kind of want me to do something pyscho, and I don't and they're disappointed."

After a year in Stingray's skin, Nicholas says he's finally learnt how to "arc up" on set - lime green cordial and lots of coffee.

Away from Ramsay St, he kills time doing homework (he's studying Year 11) and going rock climbing with Kyal Marsh, who plays Boyd.

Nicholas, 16, moved to Melbourne from Adelaide two years ago to perform in the hit musical Oliver before joining the cast of Neighbours.

He flew home on Friday night to catch up with friends and his father, Mick, ahead of yesterday's performance at the Adelaide Town Hall.

"I don't get here often, so it's hard to try and fit in everyone," Nicholas says of the quick visit.
