Can Scott Stay?

"Erinsborough News", BBCi, 2004

Scott was delighted when Susan was able to convince Angie Rebecchi to let Scott stay on with her in Ramsay Street.

Angie returned to Ramsay Street when she realised that Toadie had disappeared. As Scott was supposed to be under Toadie's care, she decided that he would have to go back with her to Colac.

Susan stepped in and offered Scott a place to stay at Number 28. It took some convincing on Susan's part, but Angie finally agreed to let him stay.

Ben Nicholas, who plays Scott described how Scott felt when he heard that he would be allowed to stay.

"He's absolutely rapt. He's just found out that Toadie has disappeared. This is the most stable environment that he has had for ages," said Ben. "He has people looking after him and trying to do the best for him. Susan has been great to him, so when he finds out that Susan is going to look after him, he's ecstatic. He's going to be able to stay in Ramsay Street and go to school with all of his new friends. Toadie's not there, but he is still pretty excited about being able to stay with Susan."

Ben says that Scott's home life back in Colac was nothing compared to the positive experiences that he has had in Erinsborough.

"When he was living in Colac, he never did well at school and he basically didn't go to school. There wasn't anyone there telling him to go to school and he didn't really have a decent role model," Ben explained. "His parents are no hopers and none of his brothers and sisters were ever mentioned. He couldn't behave. They tried medication and he wouldn't take it. Nobody really cared about him, so when he got to Ramsay Street, Susan and Karl both helped him out."

If posed with the choice of living at the House of Trouser and living with Susan at Number 28, Ben believes that the decision would be difficult to make.

"This is hard, because the boys have a lot of fun watching footy and stuff," he said. "I think Ben would get on better with the boys than what Scott does, but Susan's place is great too, because they're all ladies who live there. It's a tough one, but I would have to say that I would prefer Susan's, because it's more stable and she's more of a mother figure."
